The Matthew 25 Thrift Shop was started in February of 2013 by Mandy Hutton. Mandy saw a need in the community to sell gently used merchandise at reasonable prices to not only help her customers get great deals but to also give back to the community.
The Thrift Shop is an extension from Go Church. In November of 2015 the store was able to move from its former location in South Jacksonville into the same building the church is located. The store was not started as a ministry to help the church. It was started to be a blessing and help other charitable organizations in Jacksonville. The goal is to aid in giving proceeds from the store to help already established organizations in the community that are helping people. 100% of the profits go directly back into our community .
Jesus says in Matthew 25:35 “I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to Me.” Jesus taught in Matthew that if you feed the hungry, give a drink to those who are thirsty, take in a stranger, clothe the naked, take care of the sick, and visit those who are in prison it’s the same as doing those things directly for Him.
